Once your Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) arrives by email, you can get reimbursed from your FSA or HSA for the purchase. You have two options. ## Option 1: Let Burst file it for you For a small fee, Burst files the claim with your FSA/HSA administrator for you. Funds typically land in your bank account within 1 to 3 days. #### Sign in to Burst Sign in at Burst with the email you used to request your letter. #### Upload your receipt Add a photo or PDF of your receipt. Burst scans it and matches the item to your letter. #### Confirm and submit Check the details, review the fee, and submit. You can track the reimbursement in your Burst account. ## Option 2: File it yourself #### Find your FSA/HSA administrator It's usually the company named on your FSA/HSA card, or the benefits portal your employer pointed you to. Not sure? Ask your HR team. #### Log in to their portal or app Look for a section called **Reimbursement**, **Claims**, or **Submit a claim**. #### Upload your LMN and receipt Submit both documents. Some administrators take PDFs; others prefer photos through their mobile app. #### Wait for approval Processing times vary by administrator, from a few business days to a few weeks. Once approved, the money is deposited to you or applied to your balance. ## Reuse your letter Your letter covers future purchases from the same store for 12 months from the day you requested it. Keep a copy handy and file each new receipt the same way. > **Warning** > > A letter can't be backdated. It covers purchases made on or after the day you requested it, not before. Burst can't guarantee how an administrator will decide any individual claim. > Share this page with customers who have their letter and want their money back.
